Management Accountant

Luna Park Sydney is currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly analytical Management Accountant to join the Luna Park Finance Team. This is a great opportunity to work for an iconic company that offers stability, diversity and a unique working experience. 

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the business, you will analyse and report on key financial data ensuring management receives timely, accurate and relevant information; provide high quality financial processing and reporting to enable accurate and informed decision-making for the successful performance of the Finance Team. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide complex financial analysis and reports, monthly and periodically, for senior management
  • Review, analyse and provide commentary on variances to budget, prior year and benchmarks through liaising with relevant departments and gaining insights in operational performance
  • Cost driver analysis and interpretation for operational expenditure
  • Assist in the preparation of board reports
  • Cost allocations, weekly sales and flash reporting
  • Maintain and analyse daily sales information to accurately report on sales and business drivers in a dynamic sales environment.
  • General Ledger, Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Meet period end timetables and deliverables
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be able to deliver financial information to non-finance personnel
  • Clear, focused and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ask the ‘right questions’ to provide interpretation of the numbers
  • Understanding of business drivers and critical management information 
  • Deadline focused with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the department and business 
  • Accurate and high attention to detail 
  • Well organised, methodical and able to prioritise tasks
  • Superior technical skills in Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • CPA/CA qualified with 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with Great Plains or in the Hospitality, Recreation or Events industry will be an advantage
